Perinatal Professionals

Annual Conference

March 12th &13th 2012

Coming Together:

To Keep Moms and Babies Together

About Us

Perinatal Professionals Consortium merged from Rocky Mountain Childbirth Educators and Perinatal Outreach.  We have held an annual conference for over 20 years.

Our goal is to present a conference where maternal/infant healthcare professionals can address the requirement to update and enhance skills and knowledge in various areas, such as clinical skills and technique, current research, nutrition, teaching about childbirth, patient and family support, and communication and personal enrichment.

Our Committee consists of childbirth educators, nurses, doulas and lactation consultants.

Elizabeth Smith, MPH, IBCLC, RLC, ICCE

Conference Chair

Elizabeth has been coordinating the Department of Perinatal Patient Education for the University of Utah Hospital since 2002.  In addition, she recently agreed to coordinate the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative Committee.  She feels working as both a childbirth educator and a lactation consultant helping families transition through the process from pre-conception through birth and parenting is important and rewarding.  Elizabeth also serves on the Utah Breastfeeding Coalition, Utah Partners for a Healthy Weight, The State Physical Activity, Nutrition and Obesity Health Care Subcommittee, The March of Dimes Task Force, The State Perinatal Task Force: Preconception Subcommittee, and the University Hospital Bereavement Committee.
